Shayne Ward may not have been the most successful winner of The X Factor but he’s certainly very nice to look at.
So we’re very pleased about these latest rumours because we’ll be able to stare at him on our television screens almost every day.
The singer was spotted leaving the ITV studios in Manchester on Friday after apparently auditioning for Coronation Street.
Soap bosses are said to have called the warbler after they decided they needed some eye candy to keep female viewers happy.
An insider told the Daily Star Sunday: “[Shayne] is so keen to join the show so he was nervous as hell. It would be perfect for him...
“The great thing about Shayne is he already has a lot of fans so he’s likely to pull in extra viewers.”
Shayne is actually from Greater Manchester, where the soap is set, and he is a big fan of the show.
However, it may be a while before he starts shooting scenes if his audition was successful as he’s set to release new album Closer next month.
