Simon Cowell punched one of his contestants in the face during The X Factor’s Six Chair Challenge.

The talent show judge is in charge of the girls’ category in the competition and selected who he wanted to take to the judges’ houses round of auditions recently, which was aired this weekend.

After making his final decision, he went up on to the stage at London’s Wembley Arena to congratulate the remaining six hopefuls in his group and aspiring pop star Caitlyn Vanbeck excitedly ran straight into him.

Caitlyn even said she would “press charges” against the music mogul but luckily she was just joking and she instantly recovered from the accidental punch on-screen.

When asked by a viewer if she would take action against Si during The X Factor’s ITV2 spin-off show The Xtra Factor, she joked: “Yeah, maybe. He’s got a lot of money.”

Caitlyn was on a high during the Six Chair Challenge in which she sang Andra Day’s Rise Up, for which judge Nicole Scherzinger said she’d “better take one of those seats home”.

After shedding a few tears during the performance, Nicole added: “You moved me, I just want to thank you for that performance. Thank you.”

Simon added: “I don’t think you’re aware of how good you are.

“I don’t want to give you a chair. I want to give you a sofa.”
