Isn’t it great when you feel like your boss has total faith in you, and is just so damn pleased that he or she hired you?

Well, can someone tell Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw what that feels like please? Because they’re probably not feeling that great after waking up to the news that Simon Cowell “wasn’t sure” if he’d made the right decision in hiring them for the brand new series of The X Factor.

"I wasn't sure," Simon told The Sun. "Normally whenever we have anyone new in I'm on the phone to Louis within three hours to replace them. I'm sure he had his bags packed at the front door."

The vision of Louis waiting on the curb by his house with his little knapsack is really cracking us up for some reason…

Simon explained that he was pleased with the new judges when filming kicked off, although he admitted Rita is a "bit of a ditz".

"But it's part of her personality," he said. "What I like about her is that she's not afraid to admit that. She doesn't say something and then scream at the producers to edit it out. She can poke fun at herself."

And apparently it’s not just Simon who thinks Rita is a little lacking in the brain department – Grimmy recently described her as like "Joey Essex with a good weave".

But it’s fine, because he soon got a taste of his own medicine when Simon compared him to a dog.

"He's like a really friendly dog, really friendly," he said. "He always wants to be stroked and be happy."

How interesting…
