Stereo Kicks back Louis Tomlinson for X Factor judging role

The band – made up of Barclay, Casey, Charlie, Chris, Jake, James, Reece and Tom – were mentored by Louis throughout their time on the singing competition.

“When we were on the show One Direction used to come down a lot when Simon was there on a Friday,” Barclay told The Hits Radio. “Louis would ask if we were getting ready for show and he used to come down, sit on the panel and watch.

“He knows how it works, I think he’d do a good job. He's quite funny isn't he [and] he'd be honest as well we reckon.”

Louis recently revealed he was starting up his own record label, with the help of Syco, and had already signed one of last year’s X Factor contestants, Jack Walton.

The 1D star is also searching for the next big girl band and is currently touring the UK looking for singers.

Stereo Kicks aren’t the only ones backing Louis for a judging role. Simon’s BFF and X Factor know-it-all Sinitta has given Louis the nod, saying: “[It] would be amazing. He spent a lot of time with us last year, mentoring the talent and watching rehearsals.

“I could definitely see him going into music management and production so it's a good place to start.”

One Direction’s On The Road Again tour is in the UK when the X Factor starts, so Louis would have the opportunity to take a seat if it was offered…
