When Steve Jones was given the chance to host The X Factor USA, the Welsh presenter grabbed the opportunity with both hands. But after being given the boot by Simon Cowell, Steve’s revealed he was left out in the cold.
In an interview with the Sun, Steve said he couldn’t believe his luck when he landed the gig but, in what appears to be a veiled warning, Steve had some words of advice for anyone working for Simon.
“I don’t have a relationship with Cowell,” he said. “Once you stop working with him, that’s it. I didn’t have much of a relationship with Simon when I was working with him. It would have been easier to be bitter about it, but it’s not who I am. I handled myself with grace.”
He added: “In TV things come and go and, when it went, I was left high and dry. It’s a case of, ‘Be careful what you wish for’.”
Oo-er.
It wasn’t all bad for Steve though. He ended up meeting his future wife, Phylicia Jackson, while presenting the show.
