Christmas is fast approaching, and while that's undeniably an exciting time to work for heat magazine (the free mulled wine we consume at events at this time of year, though), it also means that we can get officially start getting excited about the new series of The Traitors. Yep, series 3 of the hit BBC show – and our Roman Empire – returns to our lives in January, and thanks to the addition of Love Island: All Stars we feel very differently about the 'worst month of the year' these days.

Anyway, while the footage for Traitors series 3 is under lock and key in the tallest tower at the BBC, as well as their Celebrity Traitors contracts (we assume), did you know that YOU (yes, YOU) can apply for The Traitors series 4 right now?

And because we actually love you lot way too much, we've not only collated all the relevant info to get you applying ASAP (because every human who has watched The Traitors is lying if they say they haven't envisioned themselves sitting around the Round Table) but we dropped series 2 legend Diane Carson a message and she's shared her advice for anyone who actually gets that all important call from the BBC.

Applications to apply for season four of The Traitors actually opened in August, with new members of the public encouraged to apply and play the ultimate ‘game of trust and treachery’.

Anyone keen to find out if they’d make a good Faithful (or Traitor) can apply on the BBC website.

You must be over 18 and have the legal right to reside in the UK, to apply, and you have until 9 February 2024 to get your form in – although the website says that applications could end early, so we’d recommend sooner rather than later.

On the application form for the upcoming series, it says that season four is ‘currently anticipating’ filming in spring/summer next year for four weeks.

Onto our Diane... You know Diane; that icon with the sharp bob and an even sharper eye for catching Traitors (until she a glass of fizzy rosè finished her off and she was 'buried alive' on TV), the retired teacher from Northern Ireland has fast become a national icon.

The fizzy rosè queen exclusively told heatworld (to tell you), 'So you've been given the go ahead, you're on the next season of Traitors! My advice: Firstly, CELEBRATE - this is an opportunity of a life time!  Then, have the phrase on repeat: It is only a game! Your game strategy - note EVERYTHING that is said or done. Lastly, enjoy and have fun!'

We definitely overuse the word icon at heatworld, but yeah, ICON.

We'll see some of you on our telly screens in 2026.

Woah, think how much mulled wine will have passed through our bodies by then...

Ben Pulsford is a digital writer for Bauer Media, writing for both Closer online and heatworld. When he's not getting paid to gossip about Big Brother, Love Island, and The Real Housewives of Cheshire, he's storming the London LGBTQ+ scene as drag queen, Beary Poppins. Both Ben and Beary are awaiting an invite to join The Real Housewives of Cheshire for series 18. The budget's not there, but the drama is 💅.
