It’s hard to believe that it’s nearly been a year since The Traitors season two was on our screens. Sure, the first season of the deception-based reality show was well received, but it was only in season two that The Traitors became a beast of its own. It not only gave us one of the most dramatic reality TV finales all time, but introduced hun icon Diane Carson to the world. We are so lucky.
But as the evenings grow darker, we’re eagerly awaiting news of the wintery show’s return. Season three filmed in Scotland this summer, with fringed queen Claudia Winkleman back as the show’s host, and applications for season four are open, in case you fancy spending a month lying to a group of strangers.
Here’s everything we know about The Traitors season four...
How to apply for The Traitors season 4
Applications to apply for season four of The Traitors opened in August, with new members of the public encouraged to apply and play the ultimate ‘game of trust and treachery’.
Anyone keen to find out if they’d make a good Faithful (or Traitor) can apply on the BBC website. You must be over 18 and have the legal right to reside in the UK, to apply, and you have until 9 February 2024 to get your form in – although the website says that applications could end early, so we’d recommend sooner rather than later.
When will The Traitors season 4 air?
We might be chomping at the bit for new Traitors, but we’ll have to wait a little while for season four to be on our screens. Filming wrapped on season three in the summer, but a release date is yet to be announced. However, given the last season aired in January, you could predict that season three – and potentially four – will follow the same pattern.
On the application form for season four, it says that season four is ‘currently anticipating’ filming in spring/summer next year for four weeks. But will it follow the same release schedule as 2024? That is yet to be revealed…
Who will present The Traitors season 4?
We know that Claudia is returning for The Traitors season three, but whether or not she’ll make it to season four is another question. The Strictly Come Dancing host has been famously sceptical about the show continuing, and revealed earlier this year that she wasn’t even keen on the idea of a third season.
‘I was reluctant to do the second and now I'm extra reluctant to do the third,’ she said. ‘I'm like, “Guys, just leave it! It did OK, leave it!”’
Still, that’s not stopped the BBC, who have also commissioned a celebrity version of The Traitors. The spin-off series is expected to film, and air, next year.
