What a great day to be alive.
The sun is shining. It’s Friday. And Tim Burton says there’s DEFINITELY going to be a Beetlejuice sequel!
And the best part? Michael Keaton will once again play the main man himself, and Winona Ryder will reprise her role of Lydia Deetz from the 1988 original.
Tim told Showbiz Spy: “The film is a go and has been approved by the Warner Bros. team, we have talked with the cast members we wanted for the film and they are all on board, this includes both Winona and Michael.
“We have the script in hand everything is in place all we need to do now is get ready to start filming.”
We had a feeling that a second Beetlejuice was happening. Especially when Winona basically confirmed it in August to chat show host Seth Meyers…
“I think I can confirm it. It was very hush-hush top secret … but then (Tim Burton) was doing some press for Big Eyes and he did an on-camera interview and he said, 'Oh yeah, we’re doing it, and Winona’s going to be in it'. If he said it, I can say it."
Before she added: “I really don’t know much more than anybody.”
Beetlejuice is the story of a deceased couple who are desperately trying to evict a new family from their home, with the help of a menace from the afterlife.
