It's the end of an era! An era of big curly hair, mild racism and Jeremey Clarkson shouting "POWER", before stomping his foot on the accelerator and going a bit red in the face.

The trailer for the final series of Top Gear featuring the big three - Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May - has landed, and it shows those bloody lads being big old lads.

The series hadn't quite finished filming when Jeremy was sacked, but there are a few completed episodes we'll still be able to see.

So what can we expect from series 22 of Top Gear? Cars. Yep, we expected that. Bants? Yep, lots of that too. We'll also see the trio driving around fields in dinner suits while getting covered in mud and doing some "after dinner speeches". Exciting.

At the weekend, loveable ginger Chris Evans accidentally let slip that he'll be working on Top Gear** with an independent production company. However, it turns out it was just a slot on the remake of his classic 90s show TFI Friday.

He said: “We’re making a Top Gear – we’re doing a Top Gear sequence with an independent production company and we’re going to see how it goes.”

Never to be outdone, James May, Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson took to Twitter to poke fun at Chris.

Jeremy wrote: “Next week, I’m doing a pilot Radio 2 breakfast show with an independent production company. We’ll see how it goes.”

Richard added: “Next week I’m doing a pilot of The Two Show on Fridays with an independent production company. We’ll see how it goes.”

And James tweeted: “I’m working on a new TV idea, with an independent production company, called TFI Thursday. We’ll see how it goes.”
