The Only Way Is Essex is back in full (vajazzled) swing and there’s been a whole load of agg so far. There’s been bust-ups galore, we’ve seen friendships crumble before our very eyes and the Amber Turner and Dan Edgar saga is just as dramatic as ever.
We were also expecting some series dramz from the two newbies introduced to us during The Only Way Is Marbs spin-off at the beginning of the series.
Ruby Lacey (great name) and Maddie Hooper joined the cast in Marbella, and were pitted as ‘sexy singles’ ready to cause a bit of a stir on the Essex scene. But we haven’t really seen much of them since.
And it’s apparently all because they’ve been axed due to their ‘secret relationships’ outside of the show.
“Bosses had high hopes for Ruby and Maddie and thought they would bring some drama to the show,” a source told The Sun.
“It was understood that they were both single when filming started but producers soon realised they that they had boyfriends.”
Ruby allegedly even banned a storyline about her kissing Jordan Brook to protect her relationship.
“Ruby kissed Jordan one night – but she wouldn’t let the storyline come to screen because her romance,” the source continued.
It’s been said their roles have been demoted to ‘extras’ and will only feature in nightclub and party scenes. AWKS.
