Vicky Pattison has been open about her journey to become a mum. After tying the knot with husband Ercan Ramadan in August 2024, the former Geordie Shore star told heat they both wanted ‘one year of marital bliss’ before starting a family.
But now, it’s been reported that Vicky, 37, has signed up for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing – and we’re told it’s thrown her baby-making plans off course.
‘Ercan’s always been super-supportive of Vicky’s career, but there’s no denying this has thrown a bit of a spanner in the works for them,’ an insider tells heat.

‘They thought this year might finally be the year they started trying for a baby, and now Vicky’s potentially signing up for months of training, live shows, endless press and maybe the tour next year, too. It’s exciting, of course, but it means their plans have been pushed back.’
The source adds, ‘They’ve had so many conversations about wanting to settle down, and Ercan’s been ready for a while now. He’s made it really clear he can’t wait to be a dad, and Vicky can’t wait to be a mum, too, but she’s also laser-focused on work. Strictly is huge, and she knows it could open even more doors.’
Vicky and Ercan, 31, tied the knot last year after five years of dating. The former jungle queen froze her eggs in 2023 when she was 35, because they weren’t ready to be parents. ‘It was a mutual decision. We are in love, but we don’t want that pressure,’ she explained at the time, adding, ‘Ercan is younger than me. He’s not ready, either.’

Chatting to heat shortly after their nuptials, Vicky – who is a devoted dog mum to Max and Milo – revealed, ‘We’ve been very vocal about the fact that we would love to have a family. I’m not getting any younger, but luckily, I froze my eggs, which I’m hoping has bought me one year of marital bliss. We just want one year where we focus on being married to each other, building that foundation and giving the dogs another year of them just being our only children.’
She added, ‘I know I sound unhinged, but they are everything to us. So, one more year where I can get my head down with my career, have a honeymoon, and the dogs get spoiled rotten before we start bringing others into the mix.’
However, we’re told Vicky has no intention of passing up the opportunity to cha-cha-cha to victory. ‘Strictly is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, and Vicky’s not about to turn it down – especially not when her career’s on such a high. She’d put her all into it, as of course she’d love to win,’ our insider says. ‘Vicky and Ercan have always talked about having a family together, but with every big career move, that seems to get pushed back.’

Vicky is tipped to take part in the BBC dance competition in the autumn, after catching the attention of bosses when she was seen supporting pal Pete Wicks in the audience in 2024.
‘Vicky loved watching Pete and was in awe of the effort that goes into every routine,’ an insider said. ‘She has great energy and will no doubt be a hit with the viewers. Vicky’s done plenty of reality shows, but now she’s ready to step out of her comfort zone on the dance floor.’
While her baby plans may be on hold for now, our source says that Vicky is still keen to start a family in the near future. ‘She’s really excited about this opportunity, and Ercan is very proud of her. She has reassured him they’ll start trying when Strictly is out of the way,’ we’re told.
