With extra time in lockdown, now seems like the perfect time to get stuck into a new series of Love Island. But, understandably, due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s series has been put on hold, with host Laura Whitmore saying the show is going to return bigger and better next year. But thankfully, for the meanwhile, ITV2 have a plan to help us get through quarantine.
Enter: Love Island Australia.
The show aired in Aus last year, and it follows pretty much the same format as the UK version, as singletons try to couple up to win a $50,000 AUS (£27,000) cash prize. It’s also filmed in Mallorca in a swish villa, but instead it’s hosted by Sophie Monk and narrated by Eoghan McDermott.
‘The series sees a bunch of sizzling Aussie singles embark on the ultimate summer of love, leaving the Australian winter behind them, as they take up residence in a luxury villa in Mallorca,' ITV annouced.
