Despite the fact January 2018 lasted about 431525254 years, it hasn't actually been that long since we saw mega FITLORDS Rak-Su crowned the winners of The X Factor 2017.
But, having been in this business we call Show for some time now, we've learnt a few lessons in celebrity gossip along the way. One being that 'pregnant' celebrities will take their sweet time to confirm the arrival of their 'surprise' little bundle of joy (Cheryl and Kylie Jenner, we're looking at you).
Another, is that X Factor bosses will plan a shake up of the show's format approximately every 27 minutes - meaning we're constantly talking about the next series.
The latest change rumoured to affect the show on it's return later this year is the scrapping of the Sunday night's results show - which would see The X Factor return to it's original 2004 format.
In an attempt to boost ratings, it's rumoured that the results show will follow on from the live show on Saturday night.
It's also thought the boot camp stage will be skipped and successful contestants from the auditions will head straight to the Six Chair Challenge.
"One idea being looked at is whether getting rid of the Sunday show would allow ITV to put all its focus and resources into making Saturday night’s X Factor even more spectacular," a source told The Mirror.
"Nothing has been decided but there are lots of ideas being thrown around."
However, an X Factor spokesman said: "No decisions have been made about the new series."
It was recently reported that Cheryl WILL be returning to The X Factor this year.
Speaking to Metro, Dermot O'Leary revealed: "Cheryl’s going to come back”.
This, coupled with a previous report by The Sun that she’s going to replace Nicole Scherzinger on the panel, could very well indicate Cheryl will be a judge in 2018.
