Strictly Come Dancing beats The X Factor in the ratings war. And Simon Cowell is NOT happy

It's WAR (as per usual) between the X Factor and Stricly once again...

So last night Strictly Come Dancing went up against The X Factor for the first time, and despite Simon Cowell’s best efforts, Strictly took the ratings crown.

Only just, mind you – Strictly's launch show saw an audience of 9.4million tune in compared to X Factor’s 9.2million viewers.

But Simon’s fuming. Absolutely fuming.

The big guy tweeted:

So the numbers are in. Strictly peak 9.4. X Factor peak 9.2. Round one to them. Such a shame they were both on at the same time!

This isn’t the first time Simon’s been peeved about the BBC scheduling Strictly at the same time as his precious baby.

He said at the end of last month: "I always think that when people do that, the people, they are pissing off are the viewers. They say that this isn't a ratings battle - it is. That's why they did it.

"They didn't have to put it on at the same time as us, they did. And it means that people then have to make a choice, whereas before I think it was more of a gentleman's type agreement."

He continued: "But it just shows, as far as I'm concerned - this is personally speaking - the producers of the show for what they are.

"They don't want this show to do well, they don't want people to watch it, and our job is to do the best show we can so people prefer The X Factor to them. Miaow!"

Simon doing an impression of a cat...bit weird, innit?
