There’s a couple of envelopes with coins in them and a pair of leaving cards being passed discreetly around ITV today.
Caroline Flack and Nick Grimshaw have apparently left The X Factor after just one year on show.
But did they go or were they pushed?
Nick is claiming that he made the decision to leave himself, albeit following speculation that he’d be replaced by Louis Tomlinson from One Direction.
“After careful consideration, Nick’s decided to rule himself out as a judge on this year’s X Factor,” a Grim representative told The Sun.
“He loved working on last year’s series alongside Rita, Cheryl and Simon but it was very much a once-in-a-lifetime experience. He remains a massive fan of the show and is looking forward to watching it this year.”
Caroline is also said to be parting ways with the show.
Apparently, the public did not take to her presenting partnership with Olly Murs.
“Caroline’s a really experienced broadcaster but the combination of two presenters just didn’t work out this year,” a sneaky show source said.
“It’s unfortunate for her, but the decision gives her the opportunity to take on a major West End role, which is something she’s wanted for a long time.”
Does that mean Olly is off too?
Of the pair of them, Olly was surely the, ahem, weaker link.
Does this mean Dermot O”safe hands” Leary will be back? We do love a bit of Dermot.
And as for replacing Nick with Louis Tomlinson why not replace him with the BEST LOUIS (other than King Louie, obvs) - Louis Walsh?
We will never rest until Louis Walsh makes a triumphant return. Never!
Rylan Clark-Neal and Emma Willis have also been namedas possible replacements for Olly and Caroline. We'd take that.
A spokesperson for The X Factor told heat: “Nick was a great mentor on last year’s series. He did a fantastic job with the boys’ category and we’d like to thank him for all his hard work.
"We are sad to see him go but wish him all the best. Details for the new series of *The X Factor *are still being discussed and will be announced in due course.”
