X Factor: Cheryl Fernandez-Versini will be the ONLY female judge – what do you think?

Simon Cowell’s X Factor shake up is getting more interesting by the day…

Louis’ not leaving, Nick Grimshaw’s in and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is going to be the only female judge…the run up to this year’s X Factor has probably been the most exciting yet.

Although nothing has been confirmed (yes, still!) the rumours are running riot.

Despite reports that Louis Walsh had been sacked, he exclusively told heat this week that he wasn’t going anywhere. Intriguing. And Nick Grimshaw – who’s apparently been picked out at Simon’s favourite to take a seat on the panel – has been adding fuel to the fire by saying he’d love the job.

“I would like to do it,” Nick said last week. “I love the show. But loads of people I've read will be really good. Robbie would be great and Simon and Cheryl if they are back…”

But what about Cheryl? Earlier this year it was reported she’d signed a bumper deal to take her seat again on the panel and now, the Sun claim she’s definitely the only woman up for the job.

“Simon has thrown the rule book out of the window this year,” an insider told them.

“Ever since the panel moved from three to four judges there have been two men and two women, but it looks like that is going to change. He will definitely be back, as will Cheryl. Simon thinks by having three men, Cheryl will flourish. He also likes the ‘three men and a Geordie’ joke.”

Tulisa has been rumoured to be making a return. After spending Christmas with Simon, Lauren Silverman and baby Eric in Barbados – it was claimed Tula was definitely being lined up for a role on the show but nothing is set in stone.

What would you think if Cheryl was the only woman on the panel?

Where it all begin. Back in 2002 Cheryl was just another badly dressed wannabe singing for her stardom on Popstars: The Rivals. And boy did she sing.

It's hard to believe but this is actually an awards ceremony outfit. Yep, in 2005 an off-the-shoulder top and tiered skirt were all a pop star needed to wow on the pavement. As it's Cheryl, her dimples did save her some.

Cheryl's Stephanie Rolland couture gown divided the heat office. Was her Cannes frock a bit too fashion or had Chezza hit the nail on the head?
