X Factor: Are Olly Murs and Caroline Flack getting the boot in favour of two HUGE rivals?

Well, Simon Cowell is pretty ruthless

Olly Murs and Caroline Flack’s turn presenting* The X Factor* could be a one-year wonder.

Rumbles are reverberating around TV land that Simon Cowell has his eyes on another presenting duo to take over next year and, in true Simon style, he’ll be poaching them from his rivals.

In fairness to Olly and Caroline, it would be hard for anyone to step into Dermot ‘safe hands’ O’Leary’s shoes, and questions have been asked about whether Caroline and Olly were the right ones for the job.

We’re big fans of Olly’s loveable pop muppet presenting style but some people feel that THAT incident with Monica Michael would justify a sacking.

Poor Ollywobbles.

A genuine mistake but oh-so-painful viewing

And when asked if she and Olly were returning next year, Caroline said: “We don’t know yet. “Do you know what? I just want to finish on a high. That’s what we want to do.”

Speaking to Lorraine Kelly on today’s Lorraine, Caroline continued: “We’ve got this weekend to really finish on that high note and finish going, ‘we did the best job we could’ and that’s the aim at the minute.”

But who will be stepping up to the X Factor plate next year? The rumour is that Simon has his eye on… …Rylan Clark-Neal and Emma Willis.

Can you IMAGINE IT? It would be wonderful!

Rylan would return to the show that made him (if you Ignore Signed By Katie Price - which everyone does) and Emma would be all kinds of brilliant.

However - it does feel pretty unlikely, what with Emma being pregnant with baby number threeand all.

What do YOU think reader? Would you like Olly and Caroline back? Or is time for fresh X Factor blood?
