Lauren Murray has received death threats after she appeared to shove girl band 4th Impact out of the way on The X Factor last weekend.
Some viewers thought the aspiring pop star pushed the sisters out of the way as they gave her a hug on-stage just as the fate of fellow contestant Che Chesterman, who was facing elimination, was announced.
The singer, who actually just moved out of the way so she could hear the result, has since received a number of “disgusting” death threats on Twitter despite the 4th Impact girls insisting it’s all a big misunderstanding.
She told RadioTimes.com: “I think more than anything it’s an eye-opener into how online bullying is so disgusting.
“Honestly, it’s absolutely ridiculous. I was so shocked about how one tiny thing can get so blown out of proportion. Even 4th Impact were so upset about it because they were like, ‘What is going on?’”

The bubbly Essex girl has found it difficult to understand how people can be so cruel over such a small matter and is shocked by the content of some of the vile messages.
She said: “Some of the stuff that people have been saying has been – I don’t know where people get it from.
“I was just supporting Che, that’s the saddest thing. People always have to turn a positive into a negative. At the end of the day it’s them, not me. I’m just doing what I came here to do and that’s singing.”
Keep smiling, Lauren!
