Is Zayn Malik set to become a movie star? Ex-1D star in talks with a director

More rumours have emerged about Zayn Malik's quest to be a "normal 22 year old", it seems like the ex-1D star might be heading for Hollywood - well a film career at least - according to Bend It Like Beckham director, Gurinder Chadha.

Speaking to the Mirror, the 55 year old director said: “We’ve met and spoken. He trained as an actor first then became part of the band.

“So I think what he’ll be doing is staying true to his heart – and that’s all you can ever do.”

Speaking at the Asian Awards, Gurinder, who's currently working on a musical version of Bend It Like Beckham, added: “I don’t have a part in mind for Zayn just yet but hopefully in the future."

Meanwhile, the director of *This Is Us, *the One Direction documentary revealed that he reckons Harry Styles will be next to leave the band.

He said: “I think they’ll stay together for a little bit longer and at some point Harry will probably leave.

“He’ll probably be next and then Niall and Louis and, er, I think those guys are going to become like the new Bell Biv DeVoe.”

“He’s an incredible singer. All of them are talented but to make the decision to go off on your own and chase a solo career in the midst of being as famous, as successful as you are... you can’t fault someone for that.”
