Ponytails have probably been around since the Jurassic age and we’re still not bored of them. That said, discovering new ways to work a ‘tail is always exciting. Hot Hollywood babes Kendall Jenner and Emilia Clarke have both been showing off dressed up ponies recently, giving us major hair inspo in the process.
Model and reality TV star Kendall Jenner’s 90s bubble pony
For a Kenny-style ‘do centre-part hair and smooth into a low pony using hands. Don’t pull too tight; the crown should still have volume. Pull half-inch sections at the front free. Secure with a black bobble at the nape of the neck. Two inches down the ponytail from the nape push upwards to create a bubble-like shape then twist a bobble below. Do the same for two more sections then leave the end loose. Smooth the front strands with serum for ultimate 90s vibes.
Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke’s gold wrapped tail
Using a bristle brush (Denman Natural Bristle Brush, £11.75) misted with hairspray (Toni & Guy Medium Hold Hairspray, £7.49) pull hair into a tight, middle-parted low ponytail. Secure with a hair bungee (label.m Hair Bungee, £4.99). Rub a few drops of glossing serum (The Body Shop Grapeseed Glossing Serum, £7) between palms and smooth over the hair to add shine. Take lengths of gold string and wrap tightly around the ponytail in close sections. Spray away any flyaway strands with hairspray.
