When it comes to certain things in life- bank balances, walk in wardrobes, boyfriends biceps- bigger is always better...and nowhere is that more true than when you want a real showstopper of a red carpet 'do. Mr Selfridge star Kara Tointon went all out with her bouffy bob at last night's Bafta and we grilled her hairdresser Charles Worthington's Marc Trinder about how he did it...
Comb Charles Worthington BAFTA Limited Edition Volume & Bounce Body Booster Moussethrough damp hair and rough dry until 90% dry.
Using a wand, curl hair and secure each section with pin curls. Allow the curls to cool and spray with Charles Worthington Style Setter Brush Out Spray and tong ends tighter once all clips have been removed.
Sprinkle Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Texturising Powder into roots and back comb through before shaking hair upside down to add texture to mid lengths and ends.
Section off the top layer of hair and take a U-shaped section from underneath, backcombing to add messy volume. Tuck the ends into the hairline and grip into place to create a faux bob effect.
Release the top section and allow to fall back, gripping any obvious overhang into the back of hair. Gently loosen the curls at the front and leave deliberately longer than the back to create a graduate effect.
Allow a natural parting to fall to the side, flipping over to the opposite side for more root lift if required.
Finish with hair spray applying from underneath up into the hair, loosening strands around the face.
