Lauren Platt is fast becoming one of our faves to watch on this year's X Factor. Not only can she sing, she is stylish and uber cute.

After a tense sing-off with mega-boy-band Stereo Kicks last weekend, the public chose to save Lauren. Which makes us happy because we get to steal more of her hairstyles!

On last weekend's show the 17-year-old rocked a gorgeous cascade of curls, styled by XF's main hair man Jamie Stevens who said of the look,

“This style works best when you start with dry hair so it is a great day-to-night update. Using a lightweight styling product to hold the waves means that you don't lose any of the hair's natural shine.”

Here are Jamie's tips on how to achieve Lauren's look this party season...

STEP 1

This look works best on hair that has some natural-looking oomph so prep dry hair with blow-drying lotion which also protects against heat damage and breakage, then roughly blow dry for textured hold.

STEP 2

Use a round brush to blow dry hair smooth, before tonging two-inch sections of hair until all the hair is curled - for a modern finish, don't curl the bottom inch of each section of hair. (At this stage, I added some clip-in extensions to Lauren's shoulder length hair. If you wish to do the same, curl this hair too.)

STEP 3

Sweep the hair over one shoulder, spritz with glossing spray and use a soft bristle brush to smooth any flyaways. Spray with TRESemme Superior Hold Hairspray to finish.
