While we might love watching the performances and listening to the vocal talents of The X Factor contestants, going away with a new 'do as well as enjoyment is always preferable.
On Saturday's show gorge girly Lauren Platt showed of not one but 2 cool plaits turning her into Lauren…Plait[s]! Once done, this look will stay all the way through the day and night. We reckon it's the perfect desk-to-dance floor look.
Jamie Stevens, the super stylist behind all of the looks on the show, told us how to steal Lauren's style for ourselves…
''Braids are definitely not going away as a trend this season but the double braid effect adds a new dimension - it's a look you can be really creative with.”
STEP 1
Apply body-boosting mousse to towel dried hair, working through roots and lengths, before blow-drying with a round brush to create volume.
STEP 2
Section hair into three from the crown of the head - to create a front, middle and back section. Apply plumping powder, dusting into the roots to add grip ahead of braiding.
STEP 3
First take the middle section of hair and work a three strand braid from the ear, moving upwards and pulling hair from the back of the head into the braid. Repeat the three-strand braid with the front section of hair working around the hairline. Once complete rub and tease the braids with fingers for an undone, matt finish that's super cool.
STEP 4
Lightly backcomb the remaining section of hair, loosely tonging the hair using a medium sized wand. Finish by liberally spraying strong hold hairspray for a look that will hold throughout the night.
