As the countdown to the BRITs get underway, Ed Sheeran has made an early appearance and while other stars are waiting to get ready to wow on the red carpet, celebrities and their entourage are able to pop by the BRITs Spa for a few pre-show treatments.
Last year they had Harry Styles, Ellie Goulding and Emilie Sande, so heat stopped by to see who we could bump into and sample the VIP treatments; including a facial [the exact one Kylie has], spray tan [used by Kim Kardashian], make-up done by those who’ve worked on X Factor, and a manicure by Nicole Scherzinger’s actual nail technician. Totes amaze.
Simple facials: Did you know…? Any celeb that stops by here this afternoon will have to fess up to whether they’ve had Botox or fillers within the last 28 days…as the procedure legally requires everyone to fill in a basic health assessment form – because it’s risky to have the facial gym treatment if they’ve had work done to their face recently. We’re told: “It’s easy to tell if someone has had fillers and not mentioned it on the form, we say to them ‘we can’t work on you, not because we’re being silly but because there’s too many risks from having it done’.” There’s also a question asking whether they’re pregnant… who’d have thought that one treatment could hold so many secrets?

Vita Liberata Spray tan: We opt for a dark tan – the actual one that Kim K uses – and is the brand that tanned celebs at the Oscars last week. “With tanning people like to be prepped ahead of the event, it’s usually done in their hotel suite or home in the few days run up to the show.” We’re told Jennifer Aniston uses their lightest tan for the Oscars red carpet – the Hawaii shade – and Lindsey Lohan used to have these tans while she was in London last year working on her Speed The Plow play. We’re told: “Lindsay is really nice, she’s really good fun. She always has a giggle, and will tell you anything you want to hear about anybody”…but unfortunately the tan technician's lips are sealed. Damn.
With BRITs celebs expected to leave tanning until today, there could be a last minute fight for the spray gun but we’re told that any star who comes into the spa will be able to skip the queue over their management team, production and dancers. Contouring is a big thing now in tanning with many celebs asking for their abs to be sprayed on. We’ll be keeping an eye out for any celebs removing their tops on the dancefloor later to see just who has a tanned six-pack.
B Make-up: Many celebs have their own make-up artist, but we don’t so we had a natural bronzing makeover by someone who’s assisted Little Mix’s make-up person on shoots. But when it comes to red carpet slap at the BRITSs, we can expect to see celebs that have had make-up contouring done – following in the footsteps of Kim Kardashian. We’re told: “Everyone wants contour, to know how to do it to put that shading on their face like Kim Kardashian. Contour along the hollow of your cheekbone and highlight above. Defined flicks, smokey eyes are really popular, eyebrows – celebs love defined eyebrows as well.”
V05 Hair styling: Sam Smith might be on track to scoop a BRIT award tonight but he’s definitely become a fashionista when it comes to male grooming – we’re told that many of the celeb boys are now scrapping the Harry Styles tussled curls look and grooming themselves more with defined styles like Sam Smith. And the girls are choosing more of an effortless look. But we won’t find Ed Sheeran down the Spa as we’re told he has always, and still does, style himself.
Priv Manicure: Nicole Scherzinger is blessed enough to have the most amazing natural nails and we had a manicure done by her nail technician. But with a male heavy line-up at this year’s BRITs, you’d expect the guys to be giving the manicures a miss. But there’s even a 'nails for males' polish. Yep. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for a matt finished look to the hands of the likes of Sam Smith and George Ezra…and our eyes will definitely be glued to Kanye’s fingertips.
