Here’s why you should not use concealer as an eyeshadow primer

Don't mind us, we've just been doing this since forever

There's a few beauty hacks that we're pretty sure everyone does because it saves time and money.

Clear mascara as an eyebrow gel? Yup. Eyeshadow as brow powder? We're guilty. Concealer as an eyeshadow base? We literally do it every time.

But a make-up artist has now revealed why you shouldn't apply it on your eyelid and honestly, we're shook.

Professional MUA Robert Welsh uploaded a video titled Doing My Makeup Using Techniques I Hate!, and revealed a long list of make-up techniques we've all been doing wrong.

However the one that we were not prepared for was why concealer isn't as good as an eyeshadow primer.

He explained, "Concealer has moisturise in it... so to use [it] on top of your [eyelids] you're asking for little lines to come through and breaking down your eye make-up".

The YouTuber then went on to dismiss anyone who thought setting powder would help keep moisture at bay because when he tried it in a previous video you could see the lines on his eyelid.

He even claimed that it's easier to blend your make-up out on eyeshadow primer rather than concealer.

Err, why have we been doing this wrong for so long pls?

The MUA even went on to point out that the skin underneath your eyes and the skin on your eyelid are completely different.

Which tbf is very true.

Instead he encourages everyone to use an actual eyeshadow primer so we've found the best ones our there so we can actually do our make-up properly...
