With her glossy chestnut waves, sun kissed skin and near-perfect figure, it’s not difficult to see why Michelle Keegan has an army of fans.
The fact that she’s one of the nicest celebs ever also helps.
Since leaving Corrie, Michelle has been busy marrying her love Mark Wright and settling down south in his homeland of Essex. She’s also taken on the role of Revlon’s UK Social Influencer and has starred a series of gorgeous campaigns.
We grabbed the 28-year-old actress for a chat about all things beauty and style over afternoon tea (and copious amounts of jelly sweets) at London’s swanky Rosewood Hotel…
What are your beauty bargains?
“Revlon’s All-In-One Mascara is my go-to because it does everything! It lengthens, defines and adds volume – it’s my ultimate bargain buy. And the matte Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolour lipsticks. They go on liquid but dry matte, so even if you lick your lips or eat it stays on.”
What’s your fave luxury beauty buy?
“I like a good primer for my face because I think it works all day and helps makeup stay matte and smooth. I always buy a Laura Mercier one Laura Mercier Foundation Primer £29.”
What’s your signature scent?
“I like Tom Ford Café Roseand because it’s oil based you don’t have to keep reapplying it. But in my handbag I have Revlon Love is On.”
How long does it take you to get ready?
“For a night out or for a dinner date it would take me about 45 minutes. If I was just going to the shops, probably about half an hour.”
Where do you get style inspo?
“Instagram a lot of the time. I like looking at fashion bloggers. If I have a key piece like a pair of trainers, a handbag or a coat I look at how they dress up that look.”
Who’s your fave blogger at the moment?
“I was looking at one earlier called Brooke Hill, she’s really cool. I can’t pull off a quirky look. I like simple, stylish ways to work an outfit.”
You’re from the north and now live south. Have you noticed a difference in style?
“I think Essex girls tend to dress up more in the day, but going out-wise it’s quite similar. Maybe because it’s colder up north, you need a jacket. The wind is so bad up there you can’t do your hair anyway so just end up shoving it up!”
