If it’s good enough for the likes of Millie Mackintosh, then it’s good enough for us.
Well that’s what heat’s Anna and Rhiannon thought when they decided to give a Presscription two-day juice cleanse a go.
The Presscription range of juices, shots and mylks have been formulated by an expert team of nutritionists, chefs and holistic and homeopathic practitioners to deliver optimum health, fitness and beauty benefits from every bottle.
Here’s how they got on…
Anna says: ‘What better way to ditch those Christmas pounds that are still hanging around. In February…’ I thought as I unpacked my stash of rainbow-coloured Presscription juices.
I’d never done a juice cleanse before, and was terrified I wouldn’t be able to get through the first hour without trying to chew my shoe. But the juices were really tasty and varied, so it wasn’t nearly as daunting as I thought it would be. Until 5pm on Day One, that is…
I have to be honest with you… I ate dinner on Day One. I had to – I was weak; emotionally and physically. It was a healthy dinner mind you, and I was back on track and feeling great by the morning of Day Two.
Verdict: I think I found the juice cleanse harder than most people would, but that’s just because I’m a greedy guts.
Rhiannon says: As a recent juice-convert, I was excited to give the Presscription juices a go. I was definitely excited to look like a supermodel.
I faired better than Anna in the sense that I made it through both days on juice, and even managed a bit of exercise (a long walk) on Monday night.
I found the juices filling and to be honest, on the second day didn’t even get through them all – six plus shots is quite a lot and I had barely finished one when it was time to go onto the next, so they were pretty generous.
Some of the juices were for pretty hardcore juicers… there were lots of root-veggie flavours and ginger and cayenne style accents. Fruit lovers or those used to a banana smoothie might find this tough.
I was super-excited for the evening ‘mylk’, which looked like a delivious vanilla milkshake. But sadly I went to bed after just a few mouthfuls. Not my favourite...
Verdict: Overall it was more hardcore, but also more filling and distracting than other juice diets I’ve tried and I did lose weight and have a bit of a flatter tum by the end.
Presscription cleanses are available to order online via www.presscription.co.uk in one to seven day options and are priced accordingly, starting from £65 for one day through to £375 for seven days.
