FAQ

Q: How do I retune my digital radio?

A: On most sets, retuning is very simple. Some simply have a retune button, whilst others have a menu button which will lead to a retune option. You can find more detailed advice for retuning different digital radio models right here. Please note, you need to ensure you're doing a full retune rather than just a quick retune or rescan.

If your radio is an older model it may be using the default frequency range for DAB from 1999, which didn’t include the frequency for the new multiplex (and some others around the country). If this is the case, when you press the auto tune button it will ask you to choose "UK" or "Rest of World". If you choose the latter, it will scan all frequencies, including the new ones currently in use.

You can also find more detailed retuning help at the bottom of this page.

A: No - you can also listen to heat Radio on digital TV, online and with our free mobile apps for iOS and Android devices.

Retune Instructions

For all DAB digital radios at your home or in your car, refer to the instructions for your particular product on how you retune, delete old station labels/names and reset your Presets.

When you retune your radio and new stations are found the station counter on the right hand side of the display will increase and new stations will be added to the list. This should only take a couple of minutes and then you can simply scroll through the display to find the stations available to you.

Most digital radios can be re-tuned using the following simple instructions:

Press the Auto-Tune or Auto-Scan button on your digital radio.

Or

If there is no Auto-Tune or Auto-Scan button, press the Menu button and go through the options until you find Auto-Tune or Auto-Scan. Select this option.

Or

If these options do not work, or the new stations cannot be found, a further action known as a Full-Scan may be required. Either press and hold down the Auto-Tune or Auto-Scan button until a Full-Scan begins, or press the Menu button and go through the options until you find Full-Scan or similar. Select this option.

If none of the above actions work, then you should consult the product handbook or speak to the radio manufacturer directly. Please see links to some of the radio manufacturers' customer support websites and telephone numbers below.

Resetting the radio

A Reset option is usually provided to enable you to reset your digital radio. Performing a retune process as described above will usually solve most DAB tuning problems but you may need to use the Reset option if you move house or want to restore your radio’s default values from options you have changed.

Please note that resetting your digital radio removes all Presets, stored stations and favourite station settings and resets all options to defaults. Some radios keep old or defunct station labels in the station list followed by a "?", and a Reset will clear these from the station list.

To perform a Reset please follow the instructions below:

Press and hold the Select or the Info button on your radio until the display shows System Reset or Factory Reset.

Or

Press and hold the Menu button for three seconds. Push the Tune button within 3 seconds to confirm the Reset.

Or

Press the Menu button and select System Reset or Factory Reset.

For more information, you should contact your manufacturer or refer to the instruction booklet.

Resetting your radio (as above) may result in your radio losing its Presets. If you want to restore your Presets, please follow the instructions below:
