Former TOWIE star Megan McKenna has pulled out of her Loose Women appearance today (Tuesday 19th March) following the death of her ex-boyfriend Mike Thalassitis.

The 26-year-old Celebs Go Dating star is reportedly too distraught and has cancelled her slot on the ITV show after it came to light that Mike committed suicide.

A source told The Sun, "Megan just couldn't face appearing on live TV today. Everyone has been really understanding and are giving her time to grieve."

Megan and Mike dated for seven months last year however in July they called it quits.

Last night Megan broke her silence following Mike's death, she wrote on her Instagram, 'Sorry I haven't been on social media but I'm in complete shock and trying to come to terms with this.

'I can't believe I'm writing this post. My thoughts and prayers are with Mike's family. Rest in peace Mike.'

Thousands of her followers rushed to send their condolences, with one person writing, 'So sad thinking of you ❤️.'

Someone else said, 'So sad, thinking of you 💔. Sending love to all his family.xx'

Another commented, 'Poor girl shouldn’t even have to write this post. Hope you are okay x.'

On Friday 15th March, Mike sadly passed away after he committed suicide at the age of 26. The Love Island star was found dead in a woodland in London.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed the heartbreaking news, saying, "Police were called to a park near Latymer Way, N9 at 09:28hrs on Saturday, 16 March to reports of a man found hanged.

"Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, aged in his 20s, deceased.

"Police are in the process of informing the man’s next of kin. A file will be prepared for the coroner."
