Blush Rose is a muted, vintage-inspired pink with soft grey and natural undertones. Romantic but not sugary, it’s the kind of shade that can add instant warmth to any room, whether you’re going for period drama or a clean, modern vibe. ‘It has a vintage feel, but it’s not old-fashioned,’ Kimberley explains. ‘It works perfectly in a period home like mine, but it would look just as gorgeous in a new build or modern flat.’
This is Kimberley’s third paint collaboration with Wickes, following the huge success of her first two shades - the serene Blue Haze and earthy Subtle Sage. ‘I’m quite the expert now!’ she laughs. ‘I’ve become really particular. I always have a clear vision of what I want.’ And Blush Rose was no exception. ‘I saw it in my dressing room straight away,’ she says. ‘It has that boudoir quality - romantic, luxurious, and a little bit indulgent. It turns a bedroom into a proper retreat.’
True to Kimberley’s signature style, Blush Rose was also designed to layer effortlessly with her previous shades. ‘It pairs so beautifully with Subtle Sage; that pink and green combo is effortlessly elegant,’ she says. ‘And Blue Haze gives it a lovely, cool contrast. You could use them in different rooms for flow, or even layer them in the same space for a really curated feel.’
Texture is another way to bring the colour to life. ‘It looks amazing against natural wood, and it really pops next to greenery,’ Kimberley says. ‘I’m not the best at keeping plants alive though. That’s more my husband’s department these days!’
A lifelong DIY fan, Kimberley says her passion for interiors started young. ‘My mum was always upcycling or painting when I was little, and I definitely picked that up from her,’ she says. Now, in a full-circle moment, her mum is giving her bedroom a makeover using Blush Rose. ‘It’s such a proud moment seeing her love something I helped create.’
She’s also passing that same hands-on spirit to her sons. ‘I love getting them involved in little projects,’ she says. ‘It’s important they see how you can put your stamp on a space with your own two hands.’
