We love a bit of self-care and all this time at home has really given us an excuse to look after ourselves inside and out. Each week, we'll be asking the celeb lot to share their Sunday self-care routines, because taking care of yourself is more important than ever.

This week we're talking to Dianne Buswell, the Aussie Strictly Come Dancing pro and YouTuber, who was actually crowned the UK's most-subscribed new YouTuber of 2019, after gaining almost 230,000 subscribers. PHEW.

Dianne is in a happy relationship with YouTube royalty Joe Sugg after they were partnered together in Strictly 2018. They have been #couplegoals ever since.

Aside from waltzing and chatty vlogs, the redhead has also been named as the newest Müller Corner Creations G'Dairy ambassador - which features a first-ever 3-in-1 fruit compote of mango, passionfruit and coconut.

Dianne chats exclusively to heat about her self-care routine, life-changing books and her top tips for maintaining glossy hair...

On self-care

Dianne Buswell

"I'm a big lover of self-care, I think it's so important," Dianne tells heat, "I think I never used to really give myself enough time for it. Then when I started doing it, I think that's when I was like, 'Wow, this is truly life-changing. Why am I not giving myself this like extra time just for me?' So, I book it in now. I have days where people will want to make plans and I'll be like, 'No, that's my self-care time!'"

We hard relate. So how does Dianne spend a self-care Sunday?

"I love massages, but I also love shopping for nice food for the week. I think that's a really important part of self-care, too. I love doing yoga, and pilates. I love going out for a coffee. I love charity shopping, all these things are self-care to me because it's just things that I really enjoy doing. I don't think self-care necessarily has to be running a bath. Even phoning a friend can be self-care, too.

The secret to self-care? "I think it's really important to really acknowledge what it is you really want to do, what makes you feel really happy and get it done."

On skincare

Dianne Buswell skincare

Dianne shares that celeb-favourite medicated skincare brand Obagi has been her saving grace for acne scars.

"I haven't really been blessed with the best skin, it's not bad, but I was a picker when I was younger. Any little blemish, I would just sit there and like pick up the spots which have caused quite a lot of scarring on my skin.

"So I recently have been seeing a lady who's put me on a skincare routine. It's a little bit more expensive, but it is a medicated sort of skincare range called Obagi. That's really helped with clearing up the scarring on my skin and just getting my skin back in good condition.

"I'm really liking it at the moment it is a little bit more on the pricier side but it's part of my self-care. I never really spend a lot on my skincare and I think that was just one of the things that I was like 'I'm gonna treat myself and actually go and see someone to actually sort of getting my skin analysed and actually have someone say, 'Oh, this is what you should be using for this.' It's really worked for me."

On glossy red hair

Dianne Hair

Dianne is known for her vibrant red hair, so how exactly does she get it looking so damn gleamy? Don't mind us taking notes..

"I have like the Great Lengths Keratin Bonds in my hair and a lady called Vicky from Larry King does for me. I've been going to her for years now. I find that because my hair goes through so much with Strictly and touring and it constantly has heat on it, I find that the extensions almost coat around my natural hair, so it gives it that little barrier.

"So that's how I protect my actual natural hair and actually, underneath, my hair has grown so much from having these bonds which is amazing. Sometimes people don't even notice now when I have them in and when I don't, so that's definitely a good thing.

"In terms of colour, it's actually not as high maintenance as everyone thinks! I found a colour that I put on my roots, and it's the L'Oréal Professionnel Majirel Mix Permanent Hair Colour . I just put that on my roots myself, I don't need to bleach anything, I just put the colour straight on and then rinse it off and it's red.

"Then on the ends of my hair, I never actually put colour, I just put this conditioner that has a red tinge to it. And that's what sort of gives my hair that vibrancy and the smoothness and the glossiness. I don't really do my roots that often, so I don't mind when my hair grows out. I normally leave it around three months in between, I've got it down to a fine art."

On daily gratitude

Dianne Buswell

Dianne admits at first she was sceptical about practising gratitude at first, but they have since made her days start bright and positive.

"Gratitude is something this year that I've really gotten into and I write down things that I'm grateful for every morning. I'm not perfect, so I don't always get to do it every morning. But I tell you what, I definitely see the difference in the mornings that I get up and I actually write in my gratitude journal. My day starts off so much brighter and so much more positive. I'm definitely trying to make this more of a habit.

"I'm using The Secret Gratitude Book by Rhonda Byrne as what I base my gratitude lists on each morning. I don't do every single thing from the book, but there have been a few things from there which have really stuck with me and I'm trying to do more of them."
