Self-care will forever be our favourite hobby but we appreciate that recharging and putting yourself first looks different for everyone. Each week, we'll be asking the celeb lot to share their ideal self-care Sunday routines, the hard-working beauty products they recommend to their friends and which TV show they're currently binging…

This week it's all about Faye Winter, the Love Island season 7 star from Devon, who is famed for her brown lipstick, hilarious one-liners and telling the world exactly how it is. Faye recently announced that she and her Love Island boyfriend Teddy Soares have called time on their 18-month relationship and is instead focusing on her adorable Golden Retriever, Bonnie.

Faye tells heat, "Life is throwing unexpected things at me at the moment, but we just got to keep getting through, There are much worse things happening in the world, right? I just need to get through the next couple of weeks."

The star chats about her journey with acne, smushing self-care into every day and the fail-safe advice that's helping her through her break-up...

On self-care

What does a typical self-care day look like for Faye?

"I try and bring a little bit of self-care into every day and for me, it's always making sure that I go out and get some fresh air. I have an hour a day to myself where I walk Bonnie and my phone is off. I also write down what I am grateful for every morning.

"I like to space my self-care out. I do like a self-care day don't get me wrong but sometimes I put a lot of pressure on myself to do everything all at once and sometimes life doesn't work out like that. Sometimes I need to be fake-tanned on a Friday and if my self-care day is the Sunday before, it just doesn't work for me.

"Looking after your well-being and mind for me is the main thing. You can be the fittest person on the outside, go to the gym every single day and still not be the fittest version on the inside when you're not looking after your well-being. For me, it's about taking that time, really working out what your body needs and getting to know yourself and what makes you happy as a person."

On gratitude journals

"I have my journal by the side of my bed and I just get up every morning, I take Bonnie to the toilet, first and foremost, make myself a cup of tea and then I just come up and I take 15 minutes. It's quite nice because I'm thinking the day before about what I'm grateful for the next day. Bonnie is normally in it every single day but then some days it is harder to fill out the journal, that is for sure.

"It's definitely helped me more recently as well. It has been hard to fill the journal out when there's a lot going on, but it's really just to kind of make sure my mind is focused on some positives in my life, because sometimes you can be really overwhelmed by the negatives and that's when I feel like you kind of go down a rabbit hole, so I physically write them down.

"There was one in there the other day, which was: 'I'm just grateful that I'm walking in the sunshine and it doesn't feel so wintry, it doesn't feel so cold, doesn't it feel so down'. It can just be the smallest thing. Some people can be like, 'I'm grateful for my materialistic things'. Materialistic things mean nothing in this world. Recent things that have happened in the world can vouch for that. It needs to be things that you're grateful for that are in your life, that make you happy, and have long longevity as well so can look back and be like, 'At that moment, I was really, really happy."

On daily wellness habits

"Going out for my daily dog walk is something that just makes me feel so good. I also try to be in a routine and I'm getting up earlier in the morning. It was my New Year's resolution to wake up earlier because I did feel that I was slipping into a bit of a rookie routine where I was going to bed late and waking up late, half the day was gone and it just wasn't the best feeling.

"Also, speaking to members of my family or my friends every single day, because I'm completely isolated at the moment. I don't have any family or any of my friends prior to Love Island up here. So we always FaceTime, or just a phone call with my sister or just something that just reminds me of home. It sounds so silly because someone will probably be like, 'that's not part of wellness', but for me, having someone to speak to is helping me a lot."

On skincare must-haves

"I have had the worst relationship with my skin since I was about 11 years old. I still suffer now and if I use certain products, I still suffer with it, especially on my back and my chest. I try and stick to very natural soaps and I make sure I fully rinse my body and don't put too much perfume directly on my skin. I've got very sensitive skin as well so although I have acne and most people think that with acne, you need to dry your skin out, but my skin just cracks and it's really painful.

"I have found the best moisturizer and you can get it from Boots. It's called Dermalex Repair and Restore , and it is just the best thing. There's no scent to it. It's pretty plain, it's pretty boring, but it does the job for me and I've used it now for two years. I don't suffer from the acne on my face anywhere near as much [as I once did]. Don't get me wrong I get the odd breakout, as everyone does and it's normal, but it's good for keeping my spots at bay for sure.

"In the morning I love my Weleda Skin Food as well as my Clinique Moisture Surge , that moisturiser is lovely. But at nighttime, my Dermalex is something that I swear by."

On budget beauty buys

"The Morphe Sweet Tea Lip Liner is something every girl needs. It is so affordable, instead of paying £21 for something you're going to lose on a night out. I bulk-buy them!

"I really love the NYX Professional Makeup Lift and Snatch Brow Tint, I've got very fair hair and it allows me to fill my brows out. And also for eyebrow glue, I use Schwarzkopf got2b Glued Water Resistant Spiking Gel for Extreme Hold. I swear by it. You have to make sure it's the gel because they do a brow one as well. Don't get the brow one because too expensive. If you just get yourself some eyelash brushes, it lasts you for a year instead of the little brushes that they give you for eyebrows. That is my top tip."

On glowy make-up

Faye really has that glowy makeup thing nailed and it turns out, it's all thanks to cream products. Noted.

"I really like to put liquid highlighter underneath my foundation at the moment and I also really love cream bronzer and cream blush. My favourite ones are from Doll Beauty, they're affordable and they've always got great offers, but they blend into your skin nicely. And also, I've all of a sudden discovered how to do a little winged eyeliner and I love it. Well, I tried to do the winged eyeliner and then I smudge it with a brush so that looks like it's meant to be smudged."

On life-changing books

"My sister actually got me a book which is again by my bed and it's called Look on the Bright Side by Sophie Golding. It's a tiny little book and it's got loads of little quotes in it, but I find that if I am having a bit of a down moment, I can just like look at it and be like 'oh, it's not so bad'. I find it really difficult at the moment to concentrate on things. So one page just has like a little quote on it and I think that's cute. It just allows you to try and see the bright side of things."

On great advice

"It came from my mum and dad and it was just to remember who you are and what makes you happy. That's something that sticks with me. It's so simple and like so many people forget. My mum, she just rings [and says] "you just remember who you are, and remember you are strong, you're so strong" And I think, 'Yeah, I am! I know this.'

"The things you don't say to yourself and sometimes you doubt, it's always nice to hear from someone else."
