Wait, what? Turns out we’ve all been using K18 wrong

Here's how to use Hailey Bieber's go-to hair treatment like a champ...

How to use K18

Here at heat HQ, we are forever on the lookout for a Really Good Hair Treatment that will heal our broken, repeat BROKEN, ends.

Cue: K18's Leave-in Molecular Repair Hair Maskwhich uses a patented peptide that works on a molecular level to repair even the most extreme damage. It penetrates through straggling stands to reconnect and repair those broken chains. Finally, a cure for our excessive hair straightening.

The hair treatment is so ruddy good it counts Hailey Bieber, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Selena Gomez as die-hard fans. In a recent video, Kim Kardashian even told fans how she puts "a lot of Olaplex and a lot of K18" on her hair during those iconic platinum blonde eras. We hope you're taking notes.

Whilst we can confirm K18's brilliance (honestly, there's nothing quite like it!), it turns out we have been using it wrong all this time.

Avid K18 stans will know that when using the treatment, you need to shampoo your hair (bonus points if you use K18's Peptide PH-Maintence Shampoo) and then towel-dry your hair (yep, zero conditioner whatsoever) and apply a few pumps to your hair. It is then recommended that you wait at least four minutes before hair styling.

However, according to TikTok, we're still missing out on one very important step. @LindseyMarieColour shared how after washing your hair twice and towel drying, you need to add "one to one and a half pumps to your hands and rub together until it turns a white opaque colour." TOTALLY NEW INFORMATION.

The TikToker star adds, "This is so important, then you're gonna start working it through your hair starting on the ends and then working up to the root. It'll start to feel like a conditioner when you can run your hands through it. Let it set for four minutes and then you can start styling it however you like."

One fan commented, "Yep. Def been using this wrong. Like the whole bottle wrong lol."

Another added, "You have to rub it until it turns white? Omg, I didn't know that. Thank you 🙏🏻."

You can buyK18 at Amazon for just £39, here.

Really great hair days, await.
