Bloat-friendly outfits will always have my heart. From sacrificing tight jeans to purchasing clothes in multiple sizes, bloating – and indeed, worrying about bloating – is a big part of my life. When I’m out shopping, I’m instantly drawn to how comfortable something will be. Does it have a shirred waist? Is it stretchy material? Will it skim over my stomach after a second helping of dinner? Bloat-friendly doesn’t mean hiding my body – it just means finding pieces that work for me.

Now, I think I’ve found the perfect summer dress in Next’s new offering. For just £49, Next’s seersucker midi summer dress could be yours. Having picked it up in the green, I immediately went back to grab it in the black. And for my fellow pastel lovers, they’ve now released it in the most gorgeous new lemon yellow. I’ve already placed my order.

Pair it with trainers or sandals for the ultimate daytime look.

As for being bloat-friendly, it’s a claim I’ve tried and tested. On a day where my IBS flared up, I popped this dress on to catch up with friends. Not only did I feel comfortable, but I got so many compliments. On a day I’d usually feel self-confident, this dress put a pep in my step.

With a shirred elasticated waist and a seersucker fabric, this is the most flattering dress you can put on your body. The scooped neckline can be worn both on and off the shoulder and it taps right into the cottage core trend that is oh-so-hot right now. Yes, I do feel like leaving the city behind and frolicking in a field when I put this dress on. I pair mine with trainers or sandals for an everyday look that is cute and comfy all day.

Available in sizes 6-26, Next are one of the best high street brands when it comes to body inclusivity. Not only is there a size to fit all kinds of bodies, but it also come in petite, regular, and tall options. I’m 5’2, and the petite option is the perfect length for me. It’s worth noting that I did size down from my usual size, though, as these dresses have plenty of stretch.

Of course, bloat friendly also means bump friendly. This dress is a great option for anyone facing a rounder belly.

One review described the dress as ‘super style and good value for money’ – and it’s something I’d echo. While £49 might not be the cheapest dress out there, it’s well worth every penny. Not only am I planning to get wear out of it for spring, summer and autumn, but it’s great quality. I have no doubt that this dress will be in my wardrobe for years to come.

If feeling cute and comfortable are as big priorities for you as they are for me, then this Next dress should be your next purchase. Get it while you can.
