Autumn is the ultimate balancing act. On the one hand, evenings are getting darker, knitwear is getting snugglier and the TV guide is getting juicier and juicier (cough, MAFS UK, cough). But then, on the other hand, it's the beginning of party season: where more is officially more and every occasion warrants a bottle of Prosseco and a grid-worthy outfit.

As we edge closer to party season, you'll be forgiven for frantically messaging "What is everyone else wearing?!!" to the girls' WhatsApp group as you debate whether 'jeans and a nice top' is dressy enough and what kind of evening clobber is considered 'stylish' in 2023.

Club L Londonare the connoisseurs of glam nighttime fits, so it was only right to speak to their Head of Design, Amy Fisher about which partywear trends will be huge news this year, the inspiration behind the brand's own A/W collection and the evening frocks which are already selling like hot cakes...

Hi Amy! Can you tell us how you got your role as head of design at Club L London?

"Ever since I graduated from studying fashion at Manchester Met, I worked in the fashion industry across Manchester, London, India and Istanbul. I collected enough experience in the UK and overseas to be a valuable asset to such a fast-paced growing global brand."

What is the inspiration behind Club L London's A/W collection?

"Our design ethos at Club L London is a balance of what we know our girl likes versus what we see trending on the catwalks. We know our girl is super glam, she loves luxury, sparkle and drama and so with that in mind, our A/W collection was created. Think a sexy gothic palette of blacks, burgundys and rich chocolate browns. We used opulent fabrics such as velvets, devores and sequins. We're big fans of adding sultry corsetry into our pieces to accentuate every curve."

"The romantic element from spring/summer has continued into winter however with a darker richer colour palette. Burgundy and plum colours are key across all products and fabrications, especially sequins and satins.

This season is looking particularly glitzy with reworked dimantes on new shapes, from draping cowl maxi dresses to structured mini dresses with diamante fringing. Maxi lengths are everything at the moment and we love them in dresses and in co ords. We have some beautiful styles coming up at Club L London, so watch this space."

What are the top-selling pieces from Club L London right now?

"Our beautiful new plum abstract print is really popular right now across all four styles Phantasy, My Girl, Lisbon and Dorit, along with our gorgeous velvet maxi dress Fay is working really well for us right now in both colours."

What are your top tips for choosing a great evening dress on a budget?

"Here at Club L, our USP is that we offer affordable luxury with a focus on great quality fabrics and expert fits for every body shape. A lot of our attention on design goes into the construction of our dresses so that our girl feels secure and sexy and able to dance the night away."

What does the future hold for Club L London?

"The goal for Club L is world domination. We are constantly working on new product categories such as footwear, handbags, jewellery and coats so that we can style our customers head to toe and be a one-stop shop."
