With the sun finally coming out and our Insta feeds flowing endless outfit ideas, our shopping habits can easily get…well a little out of hand. Luckily River Island are making things a little easier with their latest new season drops.

But with new styles hitting their site every day, it can be pretty difficult to keep up with the latest summer steals – because who has time to endlessly scroll through pages of clothes in between meetings, exercising, dating and binging our fave boxsets?
Well luckily, team heat has taken the challenge to find the River Island’s best new pieces, so that’s one thing you can cross off the ‘to-do’ list.

Sorry but how cool is this t-shirt mini dress? Summer doesn’t have to be all about floaty florals, and black and white, sixties style, is always swinging in my book. And it has POCKETS.

No, you’re not reading an article from 2007, the skort is back and TBH I’m not mad about it.
Not only will this this cute coral playsuit look incredible with a tan, but it has pockets AND will let me dance the night away without worrying about accidentally flashing anyone.

I'm currently obsessed with off the shoulder tops which is why this black top is going into my basket. It will go with everything else in my wardrobe and it's super affordable - an absolute bargain if you ask me.

When it comes to summer I’m all about a blue striped shirt, but what’s even better is this version that’s got embroidered palm trees on it. Making it the ultimate smart/ casual wardrobe item for the season ahead.

Corrrr, this black asymmetric top is about to become my wardrobe's MVP. Whether paired with black trousers, a satin skirt or my trusty denim jeans - I can't wait to wear this dramatic top on repeat.

On a hot day, nothing beats letting it all hang loose in a smock dress. Might I be offered a seat on the bus in this dress? Yes. Would I take that seat, despite not being pregnant? Also, yes. Plus it has intriguing flaps around the breast area that could double as a fan

This designer dupe is the perfect size and colour for hitting the beach or exploring the streets on your city break. By adding a crochet bag to your outfit, it instantly elevates the look. Plus it comes in black too if you’re more of a monochrome girl.

Sandal season is fast approaching, but for now I’m easing myself into skimpier footwear by swapping ballet pumps for these on-trend mules. Plus they’re in this season’s hottest colour, so that’s another trend ticked off the fash list.

If there's one thing you need to know about me, it's that I love wearing bright bold colours in the summer which is why I need this dress. I can keep it casual by wearing it with trainers or dress it up for brunch with block heels.

I’ve come to find that I am all about co-ords and this stripe number is an essential for summer. The matchingshorts can be teamed with a range of other items such as a linen shirt, plain tee or vest top, providing endless styling potential.

I love a fun, 'look-at-me' bag to add some interest to an outfit and this one is ticking all of my boxes. I am ob-sessed with this party purple hue, but there's also a gorgeous green if that's more your colour.
