Easter is the perfect time of year to go spoiling yourself rotten. The most obvious way is, naturally, to gorge out on all of the chocolate goodies possible. A less obvious, but equally delicious, method is to binge out on some movies.
We’ve collected together 13 of the best films to rent this weekend, all linked either directly or very loosely with Easter. There are some that are ideal for an innocent little screening with the family and kids, and then there are others that are very much not. Many of the Easter flicks are available to stream through Prime Video.
Whichever you choose, just make sure you’ve got a bucket of chocolate ready to snaffle all the way through.

Best Films To Rent This Easter
Hop (2011)
When loser Fred runs over the Easter Bunny with his car and breaks his leg, he's forced to take the little rabbit's place for the most important chocolate based day of the year. It's a family-friendly comedy packed with ridiculous and cute critters.
Donnie Darko (2001)
Everyone's favourite disturbed emo, Donnie Darko, is prime Easter watching. Mainly due to Frank, his ghostly 6-foot rabbit companion. Also because it's brilliant and worth watching with any excuse.
Bambi (1942)
A most grand adventure, a celebration of new life that's perfect for Easter. Also because of Bambi's best bud and cute chonk, Thumper the rabbit. Watch on Disney+ for free with a 7-day trial.
Watership Down (1978)
Reminding everyone how trippy the 70s were this Easter is Watership Down, the story of a band of rabbits fleeing the industry of man. Scary and relevant. Also there's a freaky rabbit battle at the end that'll forever haunt our dreams.
Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory (1971)
Easter is the season to be munchin' down on some chocolate. But if you fancy a break from all that sugar, why not watch a film that basically fetishizes delicious treats? A true, hunger inducing classic.
Peter Rabbit (2018)
A cute reminder of the Beatrix Potter stories, a sweet love plot and wholesome comedy for all the family. What more do you need this Easter?
Chicken Run (2000)
This animated comedy is 100%, 24-carat gold and can be included in this list because eggs come from chickens. Science.
The Dog Who Saved Easter (2014)
The Dog Who Saved Easter is so incredibly and wonderfully terrible that you can't help but watch the whole thing from start to finish, recommend it to your friends and talk about it on a Heat World article.
Babe (1995)
Time for another tenuous Easter link – bunnies and chicks are cute farmyard animals. This is a stonkingly great film about cute farmyard animals. Boom. You're welcome.
Pieces Of Easter (2013)
Alza Reese Bennett is an out of towner with money to burn and a bad attitude. Lincoln's a recluse who just wants to be left alone. When Alza pays Lincoln to escort her across state, hijinks ensue. Actor and director Jefferson Moore wanted a rom-com that is "squeaky-clean" and good fun for all the family.
Rise Of The Guardians (2013)
This film about a group of superpowered heroes fighting an evil spirit, surprisingly, has the Easter Bunny as a main character. Hugh Jackman voices E. Aster Bunnymund, an Australian rabbit with boomerang weapons. A bizarre and fun watch.
Holidays (2016)
A series of short horror films, each inspired by a well-known day of celebration. Easter's film is particularly delightful, with a horrific crucified bunny haunting a young girl. Happy holidays!
Here Comes Peter Cottontail (2014)
Equally as terrifying as Holidays, is Here Comes Peter Cottontail. Irontail has stolen a part from the Clock Of Spring, and Peter Cottontail is out to stop him. Why is it scary? Just look at their eyes.
