What would you do in the run-up to one of the biggest red carpet events of the season? Practise breathing in? Call all your friends and cry about your hair looking s**t? Take pictures of absolutely every step of the getting ready process and Instagram them with ‘#blessed’ in each caption?

Or would you just get your tits out and poke them for the entertainment factor?

Yep, that’s what everyone’s favourite nipple-haver Lena Dunham did right before last night’s Golden Globe Awards 2015, with her mate and Girls producer Jenni Konner sharing a snap of the topless star for posterity.

“#FREETHENIPPLE cover. @lenadunham,” she wrote next to the booby image, which showed Lena standing in her tracksuit bottoms with nipple coverings over her, er, nips.

More news about the Golden Globes 2015? Sure!

Later, at the star-studded ceremony, Jenni posted another picture of Lena, this time with the flesh-coloured sticky pads covering her cheeks.

“Another great use for nipple covers! @lenadunham,” she said.

Hmm, what else might they be used for? Coasters for very small shot glasses? Tiny but necessary emergency pads for shocking someone back to life after a heart attack? Replacement chewing gum for when you’ve just eaten a plate of spinach but didn’t bring your toothbrush? Answers on a postcard.
