Here’s a bit of history for you surrounding the “Charles James: Beyond Fashion” theme. Charles James was a British born fashion designer (18th July 1906, to be exact) and was known as America’s first Couturier – he was one of the first to make original outfits to order for the rich and famous – and was widely considered to be a master of cutting. Basically, he was considered a legend in fashion world and set the bar for designers to come.
So it was only right that the Met Gala paid homage to such an icon. Take a look at the pictures below:
