We fell in love with Charli XCX when we saw her channeling Clueless in the fabulous Fancy, that incredible Iggy Azalea song. Playing the Tai to Iggy’s Cher, Charli gave so much 90s ‘tude we reckon she outdid the original cast.
Since then she’s had Boom Clap (which stayed in our heads FOREVS) and now stompy Break The Rules, which we recks might be her best yet. With her mane of don’t-care waves, heavy grungy eyes and punchy lippy Charli really does Break The Rules of beauty.
We asked the 22-year-old to bring the beauty bants and she happily obliged…
LIPS
“Right now I have a lot of red lip stuff. I really like the NARS Lip Crayon in Cruella [£18]. I also love MAC’s Ruby Woo [£15.50].”
EYES
“I always have black pencil, just kohl, it’s something that I always put on and need. I never take it off! I sleep in it, wake up in the morning and it’s still on.”
TOP TRICK
“The one thing I’m really into right now is putting gloss on my eyelids. It’s just a clear gloss and then you can always add colour underneath. I like doing that a lot. MAC have a great one [MAC Clear Lipglass £14.50].”
HAIR
“I use a conditioning mask byBumble and Bumble [£30], that’s really good. A Tangle Teezer [£7]is the only brush that works on my hair. It gets quite knotted because I flip it around so much! TIGI’s After Party [£14.35] is great. It’s in a pink bottle that looks like a dildo! It smells amazing and it works with my curls.”
STYLE
“I think Topshop always do really good basics like ribbed cropped tops. They’re so cute. I love the miniskirts and fluffy jumpers, too. I got some pool sliders from Adidas recently. I’ve been wearing them on stage and look a bit like my dad!”
