Given his past behaviour, Wayne Rooney should never expect an easy ride from wife Coleen. But following his most recent antics, the footballer has found himself in his own form of lockdown. Coleen is still furious with him after embarrassing photos emerged on social media showing him passed out drunk in a hotel room.
As we told you last week, the 35-year-old WAG – who has four sons, Kai, 11, Klay, eight, Kit, five and three-year-old Cass – has threatened Wayne with divorce if he doesn’t get help with his drinking and is thought to have laid down some new rules for him to follow if he wants to save their marriage.
“Wayne is in the dog house again after Coleen told him she doesn’t even want to hear his excuses,” our insider explains.
“She’s told him that if he knows what’s good for him, he won’t be making plans to go anywhere from now till Christmas. She’s making a big deal about how he needs to grow up for the sake of his career, and how him being the biggest idiot in the room is likely to impact on his professional reputation. She’s warned him that if he wants to be taken seriously, he’s got a lot of making up to do – and told him he needs to give up drinking. It’s a deal breaker for her now, she’s made it very clear that Wayne clearly cannot be trusted to drink if she’s not there.”

Coleen was on holiday with the boys when Wayne – who’s certainly put his family through the mill over the years – ended up in that hotel, and now she’s said that, whenever she’s out or away, he is going to have to have a babysitter.
“She’s realised she can’t leave him on his own, but Coleen is refusing to put her life on hold, so she’s come up with a babysitting rota,” our insider adds.

“Either their parents, other family members or friends she trusts will sit with him, so he’s not tempted to go out. And if he does want to go out, he has to drive, so he’s not tempted to drink.”
But it’s not been all bad news for Coleen. Last week, she won a small victory in the Rebekah Vardy court case when it was ruled that the phone belonging to Rebekah’s footballer husband, Jamie, may be inspected.
The women are battling it out after Rebekah sued Coleen for libel, following the WAG’s claims that her former friend had leaked stories about her.
