Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch are two of the busiest people in show business right now. They host three podcasts between them – including their laugh-out-loud joint venture The Therapy Crouch – juggle their respective modelling and punditry careers, as well as raising their four children.
But with Abbey telling her husband on their podcast, “I feel like we need a bit of time, just me and you, to reconnect”, the pair jetted off to Sicily last week for a luxurious getaway without Sophia, 13, Liberty, nine, Johnny, six, and five-year-old Jack.
And while the holiday was designed to give the couple some R&R, sources say it might have served another purpose, relating to Abbey’s desire to have a fifth child…
“Abbey and Pete loved their little getaway – they really needed some couple time,” an insider tells heat.
“They both have so much work coming up, and they already had rules in place, so their relationship doesn’t suffer after going through a rocky patch a few years ago. They knew they had to make more time for each other, which sometimes gets forgotten because of their hectic schedules. Friends have joked that this could have been a baby-making holiday and that Abbey may have finally got her way and convinced Pete to have a fifth child.”
The mum of four, 38, gave her 794,000 Insta followers a peek of what she and Pete got up to, which included an opulent boat trip and plenty of mouthwatering Italian cuisine. “The best few days,” Abbey captioned the album – which also featured snaps of the star looking fab in a bikini.
Expanding their brood is a topic that Abbey and former England striker Pete, 43, have clashed over in the past. While Abbey has hinted she’s all for it, her husband – who she married in 2011 – is less excited by the prospect.
News of their fourth pregnancy came as a shock for the Surrey-based pair, and Abbey has previously confessed, “I don’t even know how I got pregnant. I hated [Pete], and he hated me, so I don’t know how it happened. That’s why we call [Jack] the gift from God.”
However, heat’s source says that while Pete is relishing the ages his children are at now, Abbey won’t lose hope of having another. We’re told, “Pete couldn’t keep his hands off Abbey during their trip, so who knows what will happen!”
