England's performance at the 2024 Euros may have had everyone talking this summer, but fans have also been gripped by the behind-the-scenes drama - namely going on between Kyle Walker, Annie Kilner and Lauryn Goodman. And we're told that Annie's experience of watching husband Kyle compete in Germany has been marred by the ongoing furore around the state of their marriage.
Although Kyle's wife of two-and-a-half years has been a constant figure in the stands - often with their four sons - the pair's consistently frosty body language after matches indicates that Annie, 32, is still resentful about the position that Kyle, 34, has put her in.
But just like when the pair reunited following Kyle's affair with Ex on The Beach star Laura Brown in 2019, it seems Annie is determined to get their marriage back on track for the sake of sons Roman, 11, Riaan, seven, Reign, five, and three-month-old Rezan.
A source close to Annie tells heat, "As hard as things have been lately, Annie is in a good place right now. She was dreading the Euros, but she got caught up with the excitement of it all. Despite everything that has happened, she loved watching Kyle play and seeing her kids' faces when they see him on the pitch. It also helped that the other WAGs took her under their wings, reminding her that they have her back, and doing so much to make her feel happy and relaxed. She's willing to give things with Kyle one final try, and is hoping it will be a fresh start for them both."
Annie and Kyle first broke up back in May 2019, and during their brief split, he had a fling with Lauryn, 33, which resulted in the birth of son Kairo, now four. Despite Annnie's devastation, she gave Kyle another chance and they tied the knot in 2022 - only for her to end up heartbroken all over again when Lauryn announced in January that Kyle was also the father of her second child, a girl born last summer.
Kyle moved out of the pair's £3.5 million home in Manchester but, after Annie gave birth to their fourth baby in April, the couple have been trying to repair their marriage.
Our source adds, 'Make no mistake, Annie was angry at Kyle for a long, long time and part of her will still never forgive him, but there is another part of her which knows what an amazing dad he is to their kids and how great things can be."
"She knows that some people will think she's totally mad and that Kyle will never change, but she's ready to sit down with him and discuss how things are going to work. It won't be the same as before - there will be new rules and non-negotiable - but she's hoping they can get back to a good place and there can be some element of trust."
Not only has Annie had to deal with the shocking news that her husband's affair resulted in a second child, but she also had to cope with Lauryn making her presence felt at the Euros. The realty star turned up with Kairo to watch Kyle and the England squad take on Denmark at the start of the tournament, justifying it by saying Kyle had once promised his son he could watch him play. She's also been sharing snaps of her two children watching matches from home while wearing the squad's kit, emblazoned with "Daddy" on the back, in a similar style to Annie's boys, who have "Dad" printed on their shirts.
According to our source, the Lauryn situation - and how Kyle continues to handle it - will be a major topic of discussion when Annie sets out her boundaries. We're told, "If Kyle were to cheat again, she's made it clear to him she'd never forgive him. But if he can prove that he's changed, Annie feels it could be worth trying, for her own sake and for their children. It will be up to Kyle to prove himself."
