Ant McPartlin is engaged to girlfriend Anne-Marie Corbett after popping the question on Christmas Eve.
A representative for the Geordie TV presenter confirmed the exciting news in a statement which read, “Ant and Amzie are delighted to announce their engagement. The proposal took place on Christmas Eve at home in a very romantic setting."
According to a friend of the couple, Ant had been planning the proposal for quite some time and was waiting for the right moment to ask Anne-Marie to marry him.

They revealed, “Both Amzie and Ant adore Christmas, and get really into it every year, so Ant decided to pop the question on Christmas Eve.
“He's a traditionalist, so got down on one knee after first checking with Anne Marie's family that he had their blessing. It was super-romantic, and obviously Anne-Marie said 'yes' straight away."

Ant’s long-term presenter partner Declan Donnelly and his wife Ali are said to be “thrilled” for the happy couple, with Dec expected to act as Ant’s best man at the wedding.

Ant and Anne-Marie, who has two teenage daughters from a previous relationship, have known each other for years as she worked as his personal assistant but didn’t begin officially dating until April 2018 following his split from ex-wife Lisa Armstrong.
Although Ant usually keeps his relationship out of the public eye, he did give Anne-Marie and her children a rare mention during the latest series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! while Jordan North was completing a Bushtucker trial.
When Jordan asked Ant and Dec where their “happy places” were, Ant replied, “At home with my girlfriend and the kids.”
