Comedian Jack Whitehall has been confirmed as the host of the BRIT Awards for the second year running. The 30-year-old, whose stint as this year's compere went down hugely well with viewers, has announced his return for the BRIT Awards 2019 next February.

Many called him the 'best host in years' after his performance, which saw him mock the song 'Man's Not Hot' by Big Shaq, with Simon Cowell and Little Mix's Jesy Nelson also being the butt of his jokes.

He said of winning the gig again, "I am excited to be invited back to host The BRITs for a second time, I had a great time at this year’s ceremony and look forward to another exceptional night of music and entertainment."

Jason Iley, BRITs Chairman and Chairman & CEO of Sony Music UK and Ireland, also revealed how Jack had landed the gig, "Jack was one of the best BRITs hosts the show has seen for many years – I’m delighted he has decided to do it again next year. He was so funny and very engaging, I can’t wait to see what he will bring to the show in 2019."

Jack took over hosting the BRIT Awards last year after Emma Willis and The X Factor's Dermot O'Leary stepped in for 2017's ceremony following Michael Bublé being forced to pull out as his young son Noah was recovering from cancer.

Prior to that, Ant & Dec hosted the show in 2015 and 2016, and James Corden took on the job from 2011 to 2014.

The BRIT Awards 2019 will air live on ITV from London's O2 Arena on Wednesday 20th February.
