Britney Spears: ‘I can’t trust anyone’

Singer feels ‘betrayed’ by her mum and sister – and lets the world know

Britney Spears can't trust mum sister

After being silenced for the past 13 years, Britney Spears is making up for lost time, and last week she hit out at her controlling family in her most explosive social media posts yet. And while she is still aiming her anger at her father Jamie – who she is trying to get removed as the conservator of her life – the singer, 39, also appeared to turn her fury on her mum Lynne and younger sister Jamie-Lynn.

In a series of posts, she spoke about her hurt over how those closest to her used her and let her down when she needed them the most.

Posting under the caption, “Never forget who ignored you when you needed them and who helped you before you even had to ask,” Britney wrote, “There’s nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up for you post things in regard to your situation, whatever it may be, and speak righteously for support… there’s nothing worse than that. How dare the people you love the most say anything at all … did they even put a hand out to even lift me up at the TIME ? How dare you make it public that NOW you CARE. Did you put your hand out when I was drowning ? Again… NO.”

Jamie-Lynn recently spoke out in support of Britney, following her testimony in court in which she said she was in a living hell under her dad’s control. But Britney seemed to pour scorn on her sister’s words, saying, “If you’re reading this and you know who you are, and you actually have the nerve to say anything about my situation just to save face for yourself publicly, please stop with the righteous approach when you’re so far from righteous it’s not even funny.”

She then followed it up with another Instagram post, inviting her haters to “kiss my ass, eat s--t and step on Legos” – we are so stealing that insult – and called out Jamie-Lynn directly for performing a Britney tribute medley during the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards.

“I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes,” she wrote. “My so-called support system hurt me deeply! This conservatorship killed my dreams, so all I have is hope, and hope is the only thing in this world that is very hard to kill – yet people still try.”

Jamie-Lynn has yet to speak about Britney’s claims, but our source says Britney can never forgive her mum and sister. She recently hired a new lawyer to try to get out of the conservatorship and wants revenge. “Britney feels so betrayed by her family, and especially let down by Lynne and Jamie-Lynn,” we’re told.

“She just feels completely used by them and that they’ve lied to her over the years. She says she’s been like a prisoner in her own home, not being able to do anything while they all live it up, mostly from her fortune. It has been heartbreaking for her and she feels she can’t trust anyone nor rely on her mum or sister. But she’s now refusing to be silenced and wants everyone to know how she has been treated.”

The insider adds, “Britney’s really feeling her power now that she’s been allowed to get her own lawyer. She’s sure that the court will finally see how unfair this has been and give her back her freedom. Her anger at her dad knows no limits – when she said that she wants to sue him for conservatorship abuse, she wasn’t joking. And now it’s her mum and sister – she’s convinced that they’ve been working with her dad to keep her down.”

When Britney spoke in court in June, she claimed she had no say in her life whatsoever and was made to perform against her will under the conservatorship – likening her ordeal to sex trafficking. Jamie, however, denies this and a statement said, “He is sorry to see his daughter suffering and in so much pain. Mr Spears loves his daughter very much.” The mum of two also said she had wanted to marry boyfriend Sam Asghari and have kids, but she had been banned and wasn’t even allowed to take an IUD out of her body to try for a baby. But now, she’s determined to end the legal arrangement, get her life back and take a few years off work. And following a recent holiday to Hawaii with Sam, Britney is keen to start a new life there after finally getting married.

“This has been Britney’s dream longer than she can remember – find the man of her dreams, get away from the Hollywood rat race and start fresh in a tropical paradise,” our insider explains. “Sam’s all in, too – he wants to open a gym chain out there and learn to surf like a pro. The conservatorship can’t stop them talking to realtors and taking tours of wedding chapels, which is what they’ve done on previous trips, but this time they’re having wedding planners and estate agents visit them. It’s too much of a zoo right now to freely wander around. Britney and Sam have an ‘us against the world’ kind of vibe going on right now. They’re both increasingly confident she’ll be free from her dad’s shackles sooner rather than later.”

We’re told Britney – who was last week seen wearing an engagement ring as she picked up a coffee – can’t wait to escape LA as it holds so many painful memories for her, and while her two sons, Sean, 15, and Jayden, 14, will still be based there with their dad, she knows it’s not too far for them to see each other regularly. She just wants to be away from all the negativity.

“It’s still an incredibly stressful situation, and there are days when Britney worries if she’ll ever get out of LA and finds the whole thing depressing and angering,” our source adds. “But generally speaking, these are exciting times for them both. They find it cathartic to be planning the next step of their adventure, and she trusts Sam with her life, more than anyone she’s ever known – including her own family. Moving somewhere new will be the icing on the cake if she’s allowed to make her own choices, and she’d love to do that as Mrs Asghari. She’s so over LA. Their dream wedding will be nothing too large scale, just a few dozen guests at a chapel or the beach. All in all, the future is looking promising, and they’re starting to feel like all things are possible.”
