Britney Spears said she was “on cloud nine” after her dad Jamie was finally removed from her conservatorship last week – the legal arrangement that gave him control of her life for the past 13 years, which she said led to her being exploited and abused.

Now, it seems the 39-year-old pop star is raring to speak out properly – and an explosive tell-all with Oprah could be the way to do it.

Britney has made it perfectly clear to fans via her Instagram posts that she has been waiting for the chance to tell her truth, and a source close to the singer tells heat she and her fiancé Sam Asghari have got an action plan.

“One of the toughest things for Britney and Sam to deal with is the fact they have to sit back and bite their lip so much, even though they’re both desperate to let her fans know what’s really going on. They only give a little away about their situation on social media, and Sam enjoys making his very calculated digs at Jamie – and others – when paparazzi catch up with him after a gym workout every so often. But for the most part, they’ve followed the orders of their advisors and kept silent about the hell they’ve been through, which is partly why it annoys them to see stuff trickling out in the recent TV documentaries.”

Both Sky and Netflix have released documentaries focusing on Britney’s conservatorship, with the latter even accusing Jamie of monitoring her private communications and secretly recording her interactions in her bedroom, including conversations with her boyfriend and two children.

In a major victory for the star last week, a judge suspended Jamie from his role as co-conservatorship of his daughter’s finances, replacing him with an accountant chosen by Britney’s team. Although Jamie had agreed to step down from his role several months ago, he’d been accused by Britney’s lawyer of trying to extort $2m from her before he’d resign.

And in more good news, the lawyer said it was his “hope and expectation” that the conservatorship would be fully terminated at a hearing this November.

Cheryl on Sarah Harding: 'My heart is heavy... full of grief and pain'

Our source tells us Sam, 27, and Britney – who recently got engaged after five years together – would love to sit down with someone like Oprah for a big TV tell-all when she’s finally free from all restrictions on her life.

“There’s so much more to the story than little snippets like Jamie allegedly wiring her bathroom for sound,” our source says. “It hurts like hell to be spoken for by people who haven’t got a clue about the whole big picture. Once all the legal stuff with the conservatorship is over, they’d love nothing more than to give a Meghan and Harry-style interview and reveal all that has happened. It’s going to be explosive.”
