Caroline Flack has reportedly flown to LA for some alone time following her court hearing after she was charged with assaulting boyfriend Lewis Burton.
It’s been a stressful few weeks for the TV presenter, who stepped down from the upcoming sixth series of Love Island and was replaced by Laura Whitmore, following her arrest earlier this month and it’s thought she’s hoping to ‘clear her head’ in the LA sun.
“Caroline feels trapped in the UK. She can’t see or communicate with Lewis but she also doesn’t want to return to her flat because her every move is documented by photographers,” a source told The Sun.
“So after spending the festive period with family and friends, she’s jetted to LA.”

They continued, “Whenever she’s hit hard times, she’s always ‘found herself’ again in the mountains, away from the limelight.
“She wants to feel the sunshine on her skin, do long hikes and clear her head.”
Caroline also revealed she’ll be taking a social media break after admitting she needs ‘some time out’.
In a candid post, she told her Instagram followers, “Been advised not to go on social media... but I wanted to say happy Christmas to everyone who has been so incredibly kind to me this year.
“This kind of scrutiny and speculation is a lot to take on for one person to take on their own... I’m a human being at the end of the day and I’m not going to be silenced when I have a story to tell and a life to keep going with.
“I’m taking some time out to get feeling better and learn some lessons from situations I’ve got myself into to. I have nothing but love to give and best wishes for everyone.”

Caroline entered a plea of not guilty during her assault hearing last week, in which a number of details about the assault were read out in court.
It was reported that the 40-year-old broke down in tears in the dock as prosecutor Katie Weiss spoke of a “significant injury” to boyfriend Lewis’ head after he “had been hit over the head by Caroline with a lamp.”
She continued, “He said that Caroline smashes a glass and caused injuries. She had two lacerations to her left wrist. She took his phone while he was sleeping. She had seen text messages which made her think he was cheating.
“In the 999 call the complainant said quite clearly that his girlfriend was beating him up. He asked repeatedly for help. He was almost begging the operator to send help.
“He said: ‘She is going mad, breaking stuff. I've just woken up. She's cracked my head open’.”
Caroline then broke her silence on social media, promising to “give [her] side of the story” when she “is allowed to.”
