E4 dating show Celebs Go Dating have paid tribute to Mike Thalassitis after his tragic death over the weekend. The 26-year-old, who appeared on the show in 2018 following his stint on the 2017 series of Love Island, was found dead in woodland near his home in Essex on 16th March.

Police confirmed the news in a statement, saying, "Police were called to a park near Latymer Way, N9 at 0928hrs on Saturday, 16 March to reports of a man found hanged. Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, aged in his 20s deceased.

"At this early stage, the death is not being treated as suspicious. Police are in the process of informing the man's next of kin. A file will be prepared for the coroner."

Now, Celebs Go Dating bosses have paid tribute to the former footballer, having a moment of recognition for him on last night's episode (17th March) and honouring him with an 'in memory of' title card.

Show bosses also shared a statement on Twitter in memory of Mike, writing, 'Everyone here at Celebs Go Dating are shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend Mike. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends at this very sad time. Rest in peace Mike.'

Mike's Celebs Go Dating co-stars have also paid tribute to him, with dating coach Eden Blackman writing, 'I’m shocked and extremely saddened to hear reports of the passing of @MikeThalassitis. He was extremely fun to work with and always made me smile. My sincere condolences to his family. RIP Mike.'

Show receptionist Tom Read Wilson also shared his grief, writing, 'Devastated to learn of the passing of @MikeThalassitis . He was kind and dear and I shall never forget his warm cuddles and wicked twinkle. What a premature and heartbreaking loss.'
