Some things just belong together, like tea and cake, Ant & Dec, and Coleen Rooney and tropical beaches. So, really, we can’t quite believe it’s been so long since the latter pair were reunited.
According to our calculations, it’s been eight whole months since Coleen went on a sunny vacay (her ski trip in February doesn’t count, guys – it was cold) and she’s just as outraged about it as us.
Luckily for her, she’s got the family’s lavish villa in Barbados to escape to. And now that travel restrictions have been lifted, we’re told she’ll be doing just that and upping sticks to the Caribbean with her four kids in tow. So what if husband Wayne’s football commitments mean he’ll probably have to sit this holiday out – or at least miss most of it?
“This is the longest that Coleen has gone without a sun holiday and she can’t wait to spend the summer with the boys,” says an insider close to the 34 year old, who last week was pictured visiting the swimwear boutique Rumpus Resort in Cheshire, where, as any loyal fan will know, she purchases all of her bikinis.
“They can spend most of their time at the villa and she can just relax. Normally, Wayne would be going, too, but the football season’s only recently restarted and there won’t be a long break until the next season, so he can’t commit. So, Coleen is planning a summer without him.”

It’s surely a small price to pay for getting the R&R Coleen’s so desperately craving. While she and Wayne enjoyed a getaway to Dubai without the kids last November, it’s been far too long since she was back in her happy place, Barbados – she missed a family break there in October due to an “infection” and was forced to stay in the UK with youngest son Cass, two, while Wayne took the eldest three, Kai, ten, Klay, seven, and three-year-old Kit, alongside Coleen’s parents Tony and Colette. And it’s been a full 12 months since she let her hair down on a boozy girls’ holiday to Ibiza.
As we all know, Coleen’s had a rather eventful year, not least since she’s still embroiled in a legal battle with WAG nemesis Rebekah Vardy. So we can hardly blame her for seeking some fun in the sun while Wayne gets on with the day job.

2017
After weeks of speculation around the couples marriage, it appeared that all was forgiven and forgotten as it was reported that the pair were planning on renewing their wedding vows.
2017
Coleen then surprised everyone by being totally honest in a Facebook post and admitted that although she's been through a "shit time" she decided to forgive her husband because she wants to "try and continue our marriage and live as a family".
“Coleen doesn’t want to be stuck at home,” says our source. “And no spectators are allowed at football matches yet, anyway, so she and the boys can’t even go and watch Wayne. She’s decided that it’s best if she’s away for most of the summer with the boys, and her parents will come and help out, too – Wayne can join them if and when he can. She really can’t wait to get away and has been buying bikinis and summer clothes in preparation.”
Normally, we’d be jealous, but as far as we’re concerned, Coleen jetting off on holiday means that natural order is finally being restored to the world, so we’re simply relieved. As the WAG herself – who used to go on up to ten getaways in a year – once tweeted, “Love a holiday, me!”
Honestly, they just go together.
